this sunday the streets of fremantle come alive in celebration of the 76th blessing of the fleet, an annual religious tradition adopted by many fishing villages and ports throughout the world to bless the fishing fleet before the opening of the fishing season. 2024 marks the 76th blessing of the fleet along with the special 70th anniversary of the madonna di capo d’orlando.

7:30pm – narrated sound & light show | bathers beach
to culminate the celebrations of the special 70th anniversary, Local Arts and Culture organisation, Fremantle Biennale collaborate with Fremantle based poet and writer Jennifer Kornberger, and members of the Blessing of the Fleet to bring this historic cultural event into our skies in the form of a spectacular light and sound drone show over at bathers beach. this is a free event!
